Community stories

In 2009 the AEDC (formerly known as the AEDI) was completed nationwide for the first time. Since then, communities and schools across Australia have been using their results to plan, develop and evaluate a wide range of initiatives for children and families.

Following the second and third nation-wide collections of the AEDC data in 2012 and 2015, communities and schools now have three sets of data to build a more comprehensive picture of child development, and for further informing activities and initiatives for shaping the environments of children.

A series of Community Stories have been developed to showcase the AEDC in action in communities across Australia.
