Since 2014, the Telethon Kids Institute has conducted an annual survey of AEDC stakeholders to explore the benefits the AEDC provides them in their work, how they have or would like to use the AEDC and challenges they may face in doing so. A report that summarises this research, including the 2016 findings is now available. The research has consistently found that the AEDC is being utilised by a broad range of professionals and is adding a great deal of value to their work. Nevertheless, challenges remain for some groups where awareness of the AEDC is low, uncertainty about how it fits with their work, or uncertainty about how to address challenges faced by children and families. A range of resources are available to AEDC users who would like some guidance in considering the data and how it can support them to deepen their understanding of the children and families in their schools, communities, and jurisdictions. Examples of how others have used the AEDC can also provide a starting place for people who would like to engage with the data but don’t quite know where to start.
