Access under agreement

AEDC data can be accessed under agreement with the Australian Government Department of Education.

Data sharing agreements

Government agencies, research institutes, universities and other organisations can request access to AEDC microdata by entering a data sharing agreement with the Department.

Please contact aedc@education.gov.au to see if your organisation has an active data sharing agreement with the Department.

Organisations seeking to obtain deidentified AEDC microdata for multiple research projects or initiatives are invited to consider entering a data sharing agreement with the Department.

Requests to establish a data sharing agreement should be directed to the Department.

Prospective Data Users whose organisations hold AEDC data under an existing data sharing agreement should contact the nominated Authorised Data User to determine if the agreement allows for the intended use of the data.

If the use is within scope of the agreement, the Authorised Data User may be able to grant permission to use the AEDC data by nominating the individual as a Permitted Data User.

Any publications that use AEDC data accessed under an agreement must comply with the publication rules outlined in the AEDC Data Guidelines. This includes the circulation of any AEDC data beyond people authorised in the agreement.

Reporting requirements for projects approved as part of a data sharing agreement are determined by the agreement.
