About the AEDC

The Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) is a nationwide data collection of early childhood development when children start their first year of full-time school.

2024 AEDC National report

The 2024 AEDC National report paints a picture of the early development of children in Australia, as measured through the latest AEDC data collection and across all AEDC cycles.

Data hub

AEDC data can be accessed publicly and freely, by application to the Data Management Agency or under agreement with the Australian Government.

An interactive search function to explore and download Community profiles and local community time series tables. Data can be compared with national and state/territory results.
