Summary
                            Consistent with all measures of child development, 
the Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) 
shows differences in development between boys 
and girls on school entry. While males and females 
are biologically different and develop at different 
rates throughout early childhood, researchers are 
interested in whether these differences continue into 
later areas of life and whether there may be a need 
to target interventions on the basis of gender.
