School Profiles are not publicly available on the AEDC website. They are only provided to school principals or a nominated staff member.
Each profile has detail about the number and percentage of children who are developmentally vulnerable, at risk and on track on each AEDC domain. They provide in-depth information about the cohort of children captured in the AEDC data collection in a single year and trend data from all collections that school has participated in.
Small schools with fewer than six participating children (without special needs) do not get a profile to protect confidentiality.
It is recommended that schools do not publicly release their School Profile, however schools may choose to share and discuss their AEDC School Profile with school and community stakeholders, such as teachers or local early years services.
Accessing the School Profile
School Profiles are available to eligible schools upon completion of the AEDC. Once national results are released, schools are provided an addendum comparing their results to their state/territory and national results.
Principals seeking access to their AEDC School Profile can contact the AEDC Help Desk or the relevant AEDC State and Territory Coordinator.
How can schools use the data?
Schools are best to consider their results alongside community, state/territory and national data for context. This can help build understanding of the results in the broader context of changes shaping early childhood development in Australia.
Additional data can be accessed through the Community Data Explorer.
The AEDC Reports fact sheet outline the different reports created from AEDC data. It explains what each report contains and how to access them.
