Summary
Children’s early experiences are fundamental to ensuring healthy development throughout life. Early childhood is a critical period for children’s brain development, with research suggesting that the quality of a child’s early learning environment plays a key role in their development. Availability of high-quality early childhood education and care has therefore become an area of increased investment in recent decades.
