A collaborative community working together to improve early childhood outcomes. 

Summary

The coastal community of Deception Bay is in the Moreton Bay region, approximately 32 kilometres north of Brisbane. AEDC data shows that the level of developmental vulnerability has decreased significantly across all cycles.

The Deception Bay Communities for Children program values a co-design approach and has developed several projects and programs that have been designed with community voice integral. This community story outlines a variety of community projects improving outcomes for children and families in their community through effective co-design.

Communities Leading Positive Change (QLD)

Queensland communities, Rocklea-Acacia Ridge, Deception Bay and Jondaryan have experienced a significant shift in AEDC data between 2009 and 2018. Throughout this time, all three communities have faced complex community factors and contextual challenges.

Helping Families Living With Adversity in Rocklea-Acacia Ridge (QLD)

The Rocklea-Acacia Ridge community is made up of the southern suburbs of Rocklea, Archerfield and Acacia Ridge in Brisbane. AEDC data showed 59.3% of children were developmentally vulnerable on one or more domain, however this decreased to 30.6% over a decade.
