Summary
AEDC results for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in the Territory’s very remote communities revealed a very high proportion of children vulnerable in one or more domain.
In response, the Northern Territory government launched the Families as First Teachers early childhood and family support initiative. This included various learning strategies including the See Show Say strategy - an interactive approach to using books with very young children to support their language development.
