KIDDO: A Physical Literacy Program (WA)

Building capacity to improve physical health and wellbeing outcomes.

Summary

Since 2009 nearly 20% of children starting their first year of full-time school have been identified as developmentally at risk or vulnerable on the physical health and wellbeing domain.

In response, the University of Western Australia developed KIDDO, an evidence-based physical literacy program for schools, early childhood services and families. KIDDO builds the capacity of schools and early childhood staff to deliver physical literacy programs tailored to their context. 52,000 web users have accessed the program as of 2023.
